Please share some of your background:
I am a social studies teacher in Washington, DC and a geek of all things history and geography. It's no surprise since my father is a Navy veteran and my mother was an English teacher.
When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started reading Mitch Rapp as a teenager, and can remember picking up Memorial Day in Barnes & Noble. I devoured it and immediately got caught up reading through the rest of the series. I remember commuting to work with my dad, sitting across from him on the train, and we'd each be buried in a Vince Flynn book. I've come back to some of the books two or three times since as an adult.
Which book is your favorite?
Wow, that's a tough one. To be honest, I haven't decided. I'm really hoping that by re-reading through them all on "No Limits: A Mitch Rapp Podcast" I'll have a better sense and come to a final decision. Though Consent To Kill really stands out for it's emotional depth and the transformation Rapp undergoes afterwards.
Do you have a favorite character and why?
Something about Mike Nash has always resonated with me. The conflict of dedication to the mission balanced with commitment to family. In a way, this is a storyline that can't exactly apply to Rapp in the same way.
If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Similar to above: Mike Nash. One of the most vivid scenes in my mind is of him storming the National Counter Terrorist Center in Pursuit Of Honor. It's compelling how he is so good at what he does, but has to struggle through recognizing his limits and accepting Rapp's advice to move on.
