What's Your Story: Jay

Please share some of your background:
An avid reader, retired after a life in Operations Management. Now I read, play golf and am fortunate to have loved what I’ve done all my life. It never seemed like a job.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
Term Limits hooked me to Vince Flynn and then Transfer of Power was read in one setting. I was hooked and couldn’t wait for the next book, unaware it was going to be a Mitch Rapp series. So glad it did and remains my favorite author in the genre.

Which book is your favorite?
Transfer Of Power followed closely by American Assassin. But I’ve read all of them multiple times so they’re like favorite children impossible to pick one.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Holding Mitch aside, Scott Coleman and Charlie Wicker (an exceptional character).

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Steven Rapp just because of how little is known about him but how important he is to the series as it goes along.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
I read Term Limits and was hooked; my son was 13 at the time and he devoured it. We both look forward to reading the latest one immediately, then we talk about it and why we loved it. Something we’ve shared for 23 years.

Started at the very beginning!

Which book is your favorite?
Term Linits. Grabbed the reader from the beginning and something so relevant today.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Mitch— except for injury recovery!

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Claudia— never misses a detail and her character has evolved so amazingly.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
The seamless way Kyle has been such a steward of Vince’s work while sharing his own style.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
Term Limits, 1997.

Which book is your favorite?
Probably Term Limits because it's the one that introduced me to the series. Have spent MANY a fine hour reading Mitch's adventures. Also Transfer Of Power, in which Mitch makes his debut.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Mitch, of course. Who wouldn't like him. After that, Iran Kennedy (a certified BA) and Stan Hurley (another BA).

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Stan Hurley. Older guys RULE!

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Great series. Was a black day when Vince died. Glad the ride continues.

I began reading the Mitch Rapp novels in summer of 2018, and quickly devoured them.

Which book is your favorite?
Total Power for the plausibility.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Kennedy, for keeping Mitch grounded.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
I would be someone in the background, supporting role.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
I found the novels as inspiration to begin a writing career.

What's Your Story: Sandi

Please share some of your background:
I own The Book Dragon Shop Staunton, VA. I have more than 18 years of book experience. I served in the Army and believe in supporting our military. I’ve always been an avid reader and military thrillers have always been a favorite from the first time I read Patriot Games by Tom Clancy. I’ve lived in Virginia for almost 20 years and am originally from Ohio.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started out reading Memorial Day and hadn’t realized at the time it was a series. I was thrilled to find out it was series and picked up the previous books and haven’t looked back. This series is must buy and read as soon it comes out for me. My love of this series has led me to find other authors who I’ve come to love, but this series, is my absolute favorite

Which book is your favorite?
American Assassin is my absolute favorite, we get to see what shapes Mitch and why he does what he does. It also gives more detail on the people who surround him and influence him. This is hard to pick just one so I have to add Term Limits to this list

Do you have a favorite character and why?
It’s Mitch. Of course Stanley is a close second

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Irene Kennedy. She is the smartest person in the books and I’ve loved watching her influence on Mitch

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Reading the books make me hope there are men of the caliber of Mitch and his friends who are watching over and protecting us. I always think of the quote, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

What's Your Story: Todd

Please share some of your background:
I am an avid Thriller reader . If I'm not reading, chances are I'm watching a soccer match, at one of my kids soccer games, or running around with taking photos.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started reading Vince in 2010 when I picked up a copy of American Assassin.

Which book is your favorite?
I would say it is tied between American Assassin (because it was my first) and Enemy At The Gates (because it was the most recent... and awesome!).

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Mitch is the easy choice, but a close second is Scott Coleman. He's capable and absolutely hilarious. That's a tough combo to beat.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Whoever is flying close air support or remote piloting the drone. That sounds fun and reasonably safe. I'm not looking to get shot at or in to being forced to fashion a lock pick out of a human bone in order to unlock the cage I'm imprisoned in.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Having got into Vince later on in the series, I quickly went back and read the previous books. I've been a super fan ever since. I think Kyle has done an amazing job continuing the series by mixing his own unique storylines with Vince's original style and canon.

What's Your Story: Bill

Please share some of your background:

Now I have all 20 books in my Kindle library and whenever the newest book comes out I go back and read them all again. Like visiting an old friend.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
Shortly after the first one was released.

Which book is your favorite?
Everyone of them.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Before the latest book I would say Mike Nash, but now Stan.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Great characters and seamless story telling.

ALL OF THEM!

What's Your Story: Dawn

Please share some of your background:
I’m a paralegal/legal assistant at a firm in Nashville, TN. I hike with my dogs and bake cakes, and cookies in my spare time. I had horses throughout my life until about 10 years ago. I’m embracing my 52 years of life as a cancer survivor and I love to travel.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started reading Mitch a few years ago when I saw Red War in a Barnes & Noble while I was “shopping” with my mom. She usually buys out the store when I don’t find a thing that interests me. Something caught my eye that said American Assassin and I stopped in my tracks. I had seen the movie and decided I need to get back to reading. I then read all of them multiple times and listened to the audiobooks.

Which book is your favorite?
There are so many! Consent To Kill and Red War are a tie. I say Red War because that’s the first one I read and brought me to the series.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
I love Mitch because I like to think there are guys out there watching out for us. Scott’s loyalty, friendship, skills and banter is what every true friend is made of.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
I would veer towards Anna to be married to Mitch, but Donatella so I would have her fighting skills & she made me laugh so much.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
I’ve met some great people and have been introduced to so many fantastic authors through this series. It’s been a fun ride!

***THIS PROFILE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ENEMY AT THE GATES***

Please share some of your background:
Average guy. Last of the baby boomers, born in 1963. Lifetime sales/marketing guy. Avid reader of thrillers and military history.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
First book 2nd day of release. There had been a pretty good pre release pitch and let’s be honest, years ago terms like The Next Ludlum or Clancy was not tossed as easily.

Which book is your favorite?
First book because of the introduction to the characters. Honestly, I loved every book penned by Vince.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
I related most to Stan. I respect our patriarchs and I can’t imagine Mitch without the Stan back stories

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Spoiler: Until Enemy At The Gates ,I would have said Mike Nash. I thought he would have been a natural for the future books.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
In 2001 I suffered a back injury that lead to more issues up to this day. This series actually forced me to sit up, read and then discuss with others. At this point I was unable to walk and had eliminated most social relationships. I mourned Vince and adopted Kyle who has performed above and beyond

What's Your Story: Ryan

ryan-profile.jpg

Please share some of your background:
I am a 22 year old woman from Arizona. I’ve been reading Mitch Rapp books for over a decade now. I majored in political science at Northern Arizona University and I’m an avid consumer of anything political, especially Vince Flynn and Kyle Mills books.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started reading Mitch Rapp when I was eleven years old. I had finished reading Foreign Influence by Brad Thor, as my dad’s bookshelf became my favorite library. I’ll never forget sitting in sixth grade with a hard copy of The Third Option.

Which book is your favorite?
It is impossible to choose but I’d say The Third Option, because it taught me there is always another way to get what you need. Think outside the box. Or American Assassin because we finally got Mitch’s training days! And Stan action.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Mitch is the favorite because well, he is Mitch! But also Irene Kennedy because she is so strong and independent and the female director of the CIA. However, Grisha Azarov is also up there because he’s the only character that ever got close to actually beating Mitch. I actually named my cat Grisha, after him.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Mitch Rapp. I love the action and his dedication and fights. He would do anything to keep his country, family, and beliefs in tact. A true Patriot and fighter.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
I cried when Vince died. But Kyle kept my idol Mitch alive in his wonderful books. I’m forever thankful for this series.

What's Your Story: John

profile-john-papp.jpg

Please share some of your background:
I went to work as a field tech, often commuting by train to work. At first, I read newspapers, but then switched to military history. About that time I found Tom Clancy and Red Storm Rising. Sucking up the espionage, spy, and military fiction like a sponge, I moved onto several different genres.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
After leaving the service company and getting back into an office environment, I continued reading a generous mix of stories using the jacket comments to identify new authors. Because of guys like LeCarre and Clancy ghost authors, I came across Vince, probably 2012 or 2013.

Which book is your favorite?
Term Limits. It is the start of the series and where you meet your new friends.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
It was always Stan Hurley, the forever curmudgeon with a heart of gold for Irene and Mitch.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Scott Coleman, the former SEAL, whose faithful, honest and dedicated to the mission without compromising his ethos.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Always looking forward for more Mitch while reading others in the genre.

What's Your Story: Rachelle

rachel-profile.jpg

Please share some of your background:
I've worked in a plethora of odd careers, from a professional stage actor or a broadcast technical director to a classic automobile insurance agent and an editor for a small publishing company.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started reading Mitch Rapp in about 2017. I rented a bunch of audio books from the library for a road trip I was taking for work, and ended up only listening to Mitch Rapp the whole trip. I was really excited when the movie came out later that same year!

Which book is your favorite?
Currently, The Last Man and Transfer Of Power are probably my favorites in the series. This is subject to change.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Besides Mitch?! I love Irene Kennedy to death. She's one of my favorite characters of all time in a book.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
To be honest, I'd probably be Marcus. All tech, no fight.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Over the past few years, I've dealt with a major health issue and a battle against a major identity theft. I came back to the Mitch Rapp series repeatedly as my solace, or to get back into reading. I had never before enjoyed any books in this genre as thoroughly as I have loved these Mitch Rapp and Term Limits. I own every book in audio, digital, and physical format, so it's always an easy read away.

What's Your Story: Jared

profile-jared.jpg

Please share some of your background:
I am a sports journalist who has dabbled in background acting and is in the process of finishing up my debut novel.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I began reading Vince Flynn around 2008 when a friend of mine handed me a copy of Transfer Of Power. That was all it took. I couldn't stop reading about Rapp after that.

Which book is your favorite?
Transfer Of Power is my absolute favorite, but I am a sucker for the first novels. Everything about that book just works for me. Other favorites include Consent To Kill and American Assassin.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Rapp is my favorite character as the main guy, and I appreciate how his character has grown through the series. He obviously isn't the same after living through so much, and both Vince and now Kyle Mills have done a wonderful job showing that.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Marcus Dumond. I think having an afro could be fun.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
I would like to thank them all for making reading fun again as an adult. I loved books as a child, but college kind of took away the joy. That changed when I picked ip Vince Flynn. I'm grateful.

***THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS PROFILE***

Please share some of your background:
I am actually writing about my wife. She hated reading until I introduced her to the Mitch Rapp series.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I had to read her the first 30 pages of everyone of the books to spark her interest, she now reads them all the time.

Which book is your favorite?
Consent To Kill is her favorite, she likes the fact that Mitch is avenging the death of his wife.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Irene Kennedy is her favorite. She always says that Irene is the unassuming predator that strikes when needed.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Irene, she loves how she is always 10 steps ahead of everyone.

What's Your Story: Chris

fan-profile-chris-furman.jpg

Please share some of your background:
I am a 5th year graduate student at Cornell University, currently trying to get my PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I live in Ithaca, N.Y. with my wife and two kids. When I am not in lab or playing with my kids I enjoy reading awesome spy thrillers.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started reading Mitch Rapp in college when I asked one of my roommates for reading recommendations and he gave me the all of Flynn books to date in a giant paper bag and said, "Here, read these!"

Which book is your favorite?
Wow, this is a hard question, but I would have to say Consent To Kill. I think that book really transformed the series and the character that is Rapp to solidify in my mind, that this series was so amazing and so well written.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
I would have to go with either Irene Kennedy or Mike Nash. I like Irene because of her skill as a thinker and I aspire to be able to think and game plan like her. Then I like Nash because he is a family man that has to decide to either stay in or get out and be with family. While I can't fully relate since he works for the CIA, I can relate to that struggle of how to balance work and family and I admire how he does it.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
I would have to go with Scott Coleman. He is just a beast and a great friend to have if your Mitch!

What's Your Story: Nahgee

Please share some of your background:
I am 26 years old. I am a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army, I’m an MP. I have trained in martial arts since I was 10. I’m a security consultant and supervisor. I’m a huge gun buff. 2 degrees and a few certifications. My greatest accomplishment has been becoming a father.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I started reading the series when I was 9 years old, in 2004. I’ve read every book and at one point in time trained to become a CIA operative/ contractor like Mitch Rapp.

Which book is your favorite?
All I’ve them I’ve read them all and listen to the audio books.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Mitch Rapp and Irene Kennedy they have been around since the books inception they make the perfect team/family.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Mitch Rapp because he is an intelligent calculated professional that manages to adapt to any and every situation given to him.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
I was very happy when Kyle took over as lead writer. His character In the book Fade really forecasted his future as the new Mitch Rapp novelist.

What's Your Story: Cathy

cathy.jpg

Please share some of your background:
I worked for the NSA for 17 yrs (after being hired right out of high school). I worked in several fields and then lastly as a Computer Scientist at Ft. Meade, MD and also abroad for eight years between England and Germany. However, my first love was writing; I was an avid reader growing up (hooked on Nancy Drew Mysteries). I started writing my own stories when I was just 14 yrs old. I set my writing aspirations aside until after I left the NSA and a consulting business. I am currently working on my own spy thriller series. Along with other works.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
I'm an oldie but a goodie, as they say. I started reading Vince Flynn's books when he first hit the spy thriller scene. Having been on the "inside," his books were very appealing/exciting for me. I was already a Daniel Silva, Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum fan, so Vince Flynn books fit right in with me and my thirst for all things "spy."

Which book is your favorite?
This is such a tough question. I, of course, love the ones he wrote the most and am now following up with the ones written by Kyle Mills. I'd have to say Kill Shot because that really struck a cord with me as I had just left my overseas position the year before and the Lockerbie tragedy hit close to home.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Well, outside of Mitch Rapp, Dr. Irene Kennedy. I love strong female characters, and I believe it's important have a strong female character to have that interplay with a male operative (even if it were vice versa).

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Irene Kennedy, of course! I would love to the be Director of the CIA and have the knowledge that the position holds. Also to be able to work with the heads of the other agencies, as well as POTUS, would be exciting.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
I would like to share an experience I had on a flight between Baltimore, MD and Palm Beach, FL many years ago. I got to talking with a guy that was sitting next to me on this particular flight. I don't remember the exact year, or his name now, but it was well before Vince Flynn's passing. He asked me what I did and I told him I was a writer and working on a spy thriller. I filled him in on my previous background with the NSA as well. He then told me that he was good friends with Vince Flynn. At first I was skeptical but as we conversed more, I was sure he was not making it up. The biggest thing I took away from our conversation however (and I've never forgotten) was that he asked me why I hadn't finished my novel yet. I really didn't have an answer, and so he asked "What are you afraid of failure or success?" I've never forgotten that and I always remember that when I'm writing even to this day. By the way, I told him I was not afraid of failure, for I know I can always accomplish what I put my mind to.

What's Your Story: Pops

profile-pops.jpg

Please share some of your background:
While I was waiting for Total Power to become available, I re-read the whole series. What a surge of anticipation for the next in the series. It was amazing how they all tied together, a bad guy that would not be dealt with in the previous book, but be dealt with In next book, usually at the barrel or encouraged to commit suicide. I would challenge everyone to try this. It will consume you.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
Term limits, even if didn’t have Mitch in it, can’t remember but when Mitch came on scene in Transfer of Power I was hooked!! My goal is to have the first five in hardback, expensive but I’m still holding out. I want to pass down the series to my siblings. At 73, I still can’t wait for future books. Stay on board with your pursuit to keep Mitch on the cutting edge.

Which book is your favorite?
Pursuit of Honor.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Coleman and Hurley.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Mitch to take the fight to them, take it to the enemy, up close and personal; any soldier wants that.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Excellent Kyle! I could not have hoped for anyone more accomplished and dedicated to follow in Vince’s footsteps. He would have been so thankful.

What's Your Story: Christopher

Please share some of your background:
I’m the Executive Director of Catholic Youth Organization of Detroit. A non-profit serving SE Michigan.

When did you start reading Mitch Rapp?
Started with Term Limits at first publication and have religiously gotten each book at publication.

Which book is your favorite?
Probably Transfer Of Power but only because it was the first. Each has been incredibly enjoyable.

Do you have a favorite character and why?
Other than Mitch, no. Scott is cool too.

If you could be any character in Vince's novels, who would it be and why?
Director Stansfield. A guy with such great insight and quiet power.

Is there anything else you would like to share relating to Mitch Rapp, Vince or Kyle?
Please keep writing. When the pandemic hit, I started at the beginning and am reading my way through the whole series. Helping to keep me sane.
